Shavuos Schedule 2009

Day One: Thursday, May 28, 2009

  • Eruv Tavshillin is made (see ArtScroll page 654)
  • Candlelighting–8:10 PM
  • Mincha followed by class–8:10 PM
  • Ma’ariv–9:10 PM
  • All Night Learning–12:00 AM – 5:30 AM (Men, women and children are invited to learn in classes, small groups, chavrusos, or individually.)
    • Rabbi Yaakov Rich and Rabbi Avi Bloomenstiel will alternate giving classes throughout the evening. Rabbi Shlomo Abrams will give the final class of the 5-part series on Megillas Rus.
    • During the night, learners will be treated to coffee, cake, cookies and ice cream, plus fresh fruit and vegetables sponsored by Mrs. Ruthy Feldhendler of Toronto, Canada.

Friday, May 29, 2009

  • Morning Brachos / Shacharis–5:40 AM
  • Sunrise–6:20 AM
  • Mincha/Abbrev. Kabbalos Shabbos/Maariv–7:00 PM
  • Candlelighting–8:10 PM

Day Two, Shabbos, May 30, 2009

  • Shacharis–8:30 AM
  • Yizkor (Approx. 10:15 AM)
  • Deluxe Meat Luncheon-12:30 PM (Jointly sponsored by the Abrams and Wiseman families – All shul congregants, men, women and children are invited, no charge)
  • Mincha–7:45 PM followed by Ne’ilas HaChag (special celebration to close-out the festival, including washing for Hamotzi, singing and divrei Torah from shul members, men & women invited) 
  • Shavuos/Shabbos Ends–9:15  PM
  • Maariv–9:15 PM followed by havdallah
