One Soul (4:00 PM & 6:00 PM, July 30, 2009 at CTC)

We have been taught that one of the reasons the Bais Hamikdash was destroyed was due to Sinas Chinam, and that through Ahavas Chinam it will be rebuilt.  Project Inspire encourages Jews to share the beauty and wisdom of Yiddishkeit with their fellow Jews.  They provide easy and inspiring ways to reach out to others as well as furnishing the necessary tools to accomplish this mitzvah.  We all know people with whom we can share the sweetness of Jewish living whether it is family, friends, neighbors or even co-workers.

One Soul is about the power of Ahavas Yisroel and reaching out to others.  It shows what can be achieved when people care enough about an issue and decide to take the first step to do something about it.

Assimilation and intermarriage in America is the issue that is highlighted in this film.  The film illustrates what everyone can do to turn the tide.   It demonstrates that it is not just our choice to be caring, but rather it is our responsibility to reach out to others.  The film shows examples of everyday people who reached out and changed the lives of their neighbors, friends, family, and even strangers.   It also has clips of major Rabbanim speaking about the importance of this issue. Finally, it shows the easy first step each person watching can take to reunite Klal Yisroel and change the world.

The Beis Hamikdash was destroyed on Tisha B’Av because of sinas chinam and loshon hora. The World-Wide Tisha B’Av Event provides a powerful antidote – the message of Ahavas Yisrael and Shmiras Haloshon.
