February is Heart Health Month

All women are invited to the CTC Aishes Chayil Sisterhood sponsored presentation on Women’s Heart Health. Addressing the group on how to safeguard our health will be Noa Hemstrom, PHD, Nursing and noted educator.

Heart disease is the number one killer among women. A lot of us don’t think about our hearts as often as we should, which makes sense because we can’t see our hearts to assess them. Hopping on a scale or realizing that our clothes don’t fit as well as they used to are telltale signs that our weight has changed, but measuring heart health isn’t so easy. Or, is it? Come learn great insights and valuable information on this very critical topic from Dr. Noa Hemstrom.

Ask the Rebbetzin

Two months ago, CTC’s Aishes Chayil Sisterhood began a brand new series called “Ask the Rebbetzin.” During these sessions, Rebbetzin Susan Rich answers questions that run the gamut of being an aishes chayil, the consummate Jewish woman. This means you can have your questions about tznius, childrearing, taharas hamishpacha (laws of family purity) and many more answered. Questions must be submitted in advance, by phone at 972-835-0386 or email srich@toraschaimdallas.org. As well, there is a form on our website — we recommend that you use it — where questions may be submitted directly to Rebbetzin Rich. Questions may be sent at any time and will be answered promptly. Please specify if you want your question answered publicly (where there can be discussion) or privately. The names of those who ask the questions for public discussion will not be announced. The result will be that all of us will have answers to questions we were too embarrassed, busy or did not even think to ask!

Our next monthly “Ask the Rebbetzin” session will be held on Monday, February 2, at 8 PM at the shul. All subsequent “Ask the Rebbetzin” sessions will be held the first Monday night following Rosh Chodesh, whenever possible. We hope you will find this new CTC learning experience helpful and meaningful.

Aishes Chayil Sisterhood Meeting

Please join us at the shul on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 10:30 AM for the next Aishes Chayil Sisterhood Meeting. Dr. Noa Hemstrom, PhD, Nursing, will dialogue with us about health and health related issues. Her goal at this meeting is to learn from us what topics in particular we are interested in. She has so graciously volunteered to share her expertise with us in special health series to be presented one Sunday morning each month. Thank you, Noa! Important planning for our shul will also take place at this meeting.
