Organizational Meeting, Tonight!

With certain legal formalities having been completed, we are pleased to hold the organizational meeting of Congregation Toras Chaim, Tuesday, April 24 at 8:30 PM. At this meeting we will confirm the appointments of the initial directors and officers, and consider the date of the first meeting of the members. This part of the meeting will last approximately ten minutes.

We will then hold the last steering committee meeting before our first Shabbos. We strongly encourage all interested parties to attend as your voice matters at this crucial time.

The address is 17912 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, TX (opposite Winding Rose). See location. Please call Shalom Abrams at (903) 918-9650 or Rabbi Yaakov Rich at (972) 774-0813, if you have any questions.

Path of the Just

Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato, better known as the RaMCHaL, authored a book on spiritual and character development that is widely considered to the quintessential book of its kind. In fact, the Vilna Gaon said of himself that he would crawl across Europe to learn in the dust of the RaMCHaL’s feet.

Spend an hour each week, with Rabbi Yaakov Rich, developing a Torah approach to personal growth using the ultimate self-help book. Discover qualities and potential you never knew you had, as you climb the ladder toward spiritual greatness.

This class is for men and women, from beginner to advanced. There is no cost for the class, but participants will need to purchase a copy of Path of the Just, which is available by Feldheim in Hebrew with an English translation. They are available for purchase from Lone Star Judaica, at the corner of Hillcrest and Frankford. The class will be taught every Wednesday, 8 PM at Congregation Toras Chaim, 17912 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, TX 75252.

Learn to Learn the Talmud

Rabbi Yaakov Rich will help you navigate the sea of Talmud by teaching syntax, vocabulary, relevant historical background facts and full explanations for the topic at hand, so the material is fully understood by all who attend. You will even be able to prepare and review the text with your study partner (to be determined at time of class).

There is no cost for this exciting learning opportunity. The ArtScroll English / Hebrew edition will be used, and participants must purchase their own book, however. We will be studying the first chapter in Shabbos. This book is available from Lone Star Judaica in Dallas, located at the corner of Hillcrest and Frankford. This class is open for men, and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM at Congregation Toras Chaim, 17912 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, TX 75252.
