Dear Kehilla:
Congregation Toras Chaim has a LOT going on. In addition to Rabbi Rich’s excellent line-up of regular shiurim, the board and sisterhood are working to create a top-notch line-up of events and attractions to build our shul. These include:
- Children’s Chanukah Party
- Chanukah Melaveh Malka
- Non-Holiday Party
- Hachnassas Sefer Torah
- Artscroll Talmud Giveaway
- Sisterhood Events & Children’s Programming
- Much, Much, More . . .
Building our shul, however, doesn’t simply mean increasing the number of people; the more important aspect of building a shul is building a true sense of community and camaraderie untied by a love of Jewish learning and living, and faith in Hashem and his Holy Torah. Your contribution is always appreciated, whether by attending minyanim, volunteering for shul/event planning, or, especially, by providing feedback to Rabbi Rich and the shul board. We love nothing more than learning how to be a better shul.
Of course, there are practical considerations to shul building, which includes, most of all, funding. Though not as important as community building, it is absolutely necessary to the shul’s continued operation. Membership at Congregation Toras Chaim is both a way to contribute to the financial health of the shul and to strengthen the bonds of the shul community. As the main source of funding for Toras Chaim’s programs and activities, your membership benefits the entire shul community.
While everyone is welcome to our synagogue regardless of payment, we recognize that membership also has advantages. Payment of your dues entitles you to:
- Reduced High Holy Day tickets
- Voting privileges at congregational meetings
- Full participation in shul social events
- The monthly newsletter and other mailings
- Participation in educational programs and other activities at discounted and special rates
- Ability to join or head a committee and contribute in shaping and developing the future of our shul
Your membership fulfills the mitzvah of tzedaka while also supporting Torah education and Tefillah. The membership rates for 2013 are the same in previous years: $900. Also, as in prior years, we offer special “Early Bird†dues of $800 for those paying their dues in full before Dec. 31 2012.
To make dues as convenient as possible for our members, we encourage that you set up for our monthly auto-pay program. Your dues will be charged monthly ($75 per month) to your credit card without you having to lift a finger!
In addition, and this is great – for those using auto pay, you may elect to spread your high-holiday ticket payments out, now, over the entire year at the early bird ticket rate of  $300 for the entire family or $150 for individuals, for a total monthly cost of $100 for family membership and high holiday tickets, or  $87.50 for individual membership and high holiday tickets.
Please use the payment module. Tick “Each Month” if your intent is pay in 12 equal monthly payments.

Your support is appreciated beyond what words can express and is truly making a difference to our shul.
