These are the words of Congregation Toras Chaim member Don Mason, whose daughter Valerie is suffering from Ewing Sarcoma cancer.
We just got real bad news today. Valerie’s x-ray showed that her cancer has spread to her right lung filling it about 1/3 and her left lung has grown to 2/3. She is in much pain and as you know, very afraid, as we all are, and very alone. We need help, serious, not just words type help. I can not just sit here and watch her suffer. There is so much more out there to help her but it takes money! I know you care for her very much. Valerie is suffering as you are reading this she has to sleep sitting up otherwise the fluid in her lungs gag her! We have been very humbled by the donations we have recieved, but now we really need help. Dr. Forsythe who put Valerie in remission once wants to work with her again. Pleeeeease let me know soon what you can do to help her so I can start making plans. Time is not our friend.
We can help the family through online donations at www.charitybox.com/southwestncsy . Please note “Valerie Mason Fund” on the donation. Or, checks can be mailed to: NCSY – Valerie Mason Fund, 5840 Charlestown Drive, Dallas TX 75230.
On behalf of Valerie, Don & Sandy Mason, we thank you for your support.

I have seen the Masons’ story on Veria Living many times. How is Valerie doing now in 2013? So many of us who have seen the story would love an update.
