On behalf of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, Congregation Toras Chaim is invited, along with all other Dallas Jewish congregations, to participate in the Second Annual Jewish Heritage Day at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The event will take place on Sunday, May 31st at 2:05 PM as the Texas Rangers play the Oakland Athletics.
Each ticket purchased for Jewish Heritage Day 2009 will come with a special Texas Rangers Baseball Cap and a portion of the proceeds from each ticket will benefit the Jewish organization of your choice. This will be a great opportunity to celebrate Jewish heritage in North Texas, while raising funds for the Jewish community.
The Texas Rangers are also proud to offer kosher concession by Dallas Kosher in section 42. This, along with some other special events, will certainly make for a memorable day and add to one of the newest traditions at the Ballpark, Jewish Heritage Day!
Tickets will cost $20 each. The deadline to order is Monday, May 18th. Tickets are subject to availability. In order to ensure seating together, tickets must be ordered together. Baseball and Torah Community…
Many, many Torah Jews are faithful fans of Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs, whatever else they have.
They are still nevertheless Talmidei Chachamim and Bnei Torah.
Myself, I share a view of the one of the biggest Chochmei Chitzonius–secular scholars–of America, Prof. Dr. Richard Pipes of Harvard(father of the orientalist Daniel Pipes, well known in Jewish Community).
Dr. Pipes said that he, an immigrant, who even worked in Reagan’s White House, is extremly distant from even understanding the rules of baseball(as well as modern American “music” and other similar “culture”).
