2010 Annual Shul Meeting

Dear Members and Friends of CTC:

The past year was one of tremendous growth for the shul; we nearly doubled our membership, established classes and Gamara shiurim on nearly every day of the week, and created a building committee to begin the critical task of building a new building for the shul to take us into the future.

The purpose of this letter is to ask you to save Sunday, June 6, 4:00 PM, as the date for the annual CTC shul meeting. You will not want to miss this, as not only will we be electing and installing our new slate of shul leaders on the Executive and Advisory Boards, but I also plan to take this opportunity to reveal in detail to the members of the shul the plans for our building across the street from the current shul. The building committee had an exciting meeting last night with the architect who will be creating our initial floor plan drawings and schematics, and I look forward to sharing those with you at the annual meeting. And, I’m excited to say there will be some nice surprises about the building to reveal as well.

Back to the subject of the candidate slate we will be voting on: I’m pleased to announce that we have continued to develop new leaders in the shul, and that we have augmented our board with several new talented people to take us into 2011/2012. Continuing to serve on the executive board in the role of  Immediate Past President is Shalom Abrams. Continuing to serve on the advisory board (their terms are not up until the summer of 2011) are Ina Cohen and Abigail Ruttenberg. Rabbi Avi Bloomenstiel and David Wiseman will also continue to serve as Appointed Advisers. I am also pleased to announce that we will be voting on two new members to join the Advisory Board: Rina Esther Teitlebaum and Ben Nice, as well as the return of Shelly Newman and Ellen Gutgold to serve out new 2 year terms.

In addition to the Advisory Board candidates listed above, I am thrilled to announce the nomination of the newest addition to the Executive Board, David Lipsitz, who will be moving from the Advisory Board to the Executive Board in the critical role of shul Treasurer. David brings to the Executive Board strong accounting skills and an even stronger commitment to the success of the shul. Listed below is the new Executive Board and Advisory candidate slate we will be voting on at the annual meeting:

Executive Board Candidates

  • President: Wes Sutkin
  • Vice President: Yehudah Palmer
  • Treasurer: David Lipsitz
  •  Secretary: Ken Jarmel

Advisory Board Candidates

  • Ellen Gutgold
  • Shelly Newman
  • Ben Nise
  • Rina Esther Teitlebaum

In preparation for the annual meeting on June 6th, please be sure your membership is in good standing. If you have any questions or would like to make special arrangements, feel free to call me at 972-267-4747. CTC has exciting times ahead, and with Hashem’s help, we look forward to davening in a new building in the near future and to seeing continued growth for the shul.

Best Regards,

Wes Sutkin, CTC President
