The Road to Sinai
Shabbos Parshas Emor, May 9, 2009, celebrate the two year anniversary of Congregation Toras Chaim by spending an incredible Shabbos learning from a master teacher, lecturer and storyteller. We are very fortunate to host Rabbi Yisroel Lashak and his beautiful family for the CTC Shabbaton, “The Road to Sinai.”
Lectures include:
- Friday Night after the meal — Which is the Most Important Mitzvah?
- Shabbos Morning after a gala kiddush — Who Comes First, Man or God?
- Shabbos Afternoon one hour before mincha — Do We Really Have Free Will?
In addition, Rabbi Lashak will briefly speak Friday night during davening, Shabbos morning during davening, and at Shalosh Seudos.
Friday night we will be eating dinner together in shul, after which we will hear from Rabbi Lashak. It will be a catered affair, and promises to be elegant and uplifting. The cost for the Friday night dinner is $50 per person, $25 per child under 7. Reservations are being taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Babysitting is being provided, free of charge at the three major lectures.
There is an $18 suggested donation for all participants. If you attend the Friday night dinner, the cost of the dinner includes the suggested donation.
We are looking forward to spending this Shabbos together, and are grateful to Rabbi Lashak for sharing his wit and wisdom with us in preparation for Shavuos. If you would like Shabbos hospitality please contact Rabbi Yaakov Rich at 972-835-6016, or Rebbetzin Susan Rich at 972-835-0386.
