Shabbos Schedule Tzav, Zachor 5771

This week’s kiddush is sponsored by Ina Cohen in honor of her husband Steven’s (Special) birthday on Shabbos, and the yahrtzeit of her father, Hirsh ben Reuven. March 19th

  • Shacharis–8:30 AM (Parshas Zachor is read; men & women should be in shul to hear the leining, approx. 9:45 AM. There will be another leining during kiddush.)
  • “Mommy & Me” Childcare: Children with their mothers are welcome to spend quality time in the Katz home (Directly across the easement from the Rich home, 7303 Williamswood). Please enter through the back door.–10 AM until end of davening.
  • Chumash Shiur (for men & women)–5:55 PM
  • Mincha–6:55 PM (No shalosh seudos in shul this week.)
  • No Women’s Shalosh Seudos this week.
  • Shabbos Ends – 8:23 PM (Say “Baruch Hamavdil Bein Kodesh L’Chol”)

Purim Schedule:

Purim Night: Motzei Shabbos, March 19, 2011

  • Maariv followed by Megillas Esther–9:00 PM (with the unbelievably talented Eric Schramm who will play Achashverosh, Haman, Mordechai, Esther, and the rest of the gang as he relives the entire Purim story through his very amusing reading)
  • Havdallah at home. There is a custom to have a seudas mitzvah at night, in addition to the main Purim feast the following day.

Purim Day: Sunday, March 20, 2011

Remember the four mitzvos of Purim day

  1. Matanos L’Evyonim: Charity is sent to at least two different needy people (Money may be given to the rabbi for distribution on Purim)
  2. Mishloach Manos: Each Jew over the age of bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah must send two different, ready made foods to at least one friend
  3. Seudas Purim: Toward evening, a festive meal called Seudas Purim is held, often with wine as the prominent beverage
  4. Megillas Esther: Each Jew over the age of bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah must hear Megillas Esther read at night and during the day
  • Shacharis/Megillas Esther–8:00 AM
  • Yeshivas Mordechai HaTzaddik–11:15 AM-12:15 PM (Internationally Observed Father & Son Learning on Purim–Treats and Prizes)
  • Mincha–4:30 PM
  • CTC Purim Seudah (Please bring your own bottle(s) of wine) – 6:00 PM
  • Maariv–8:15 PM

Weekday Schedule:

  • Weekday Shacharis–6:40 AM
  • Mincha/Maariv–7:25 PM
